The Courts Garden (NT)

Not far from the Chalfield Manor, is The Courts Garden , a classic early 20th century garden and arboretum.

Again, our first visit here, and we both really liked it. 

The 7 acres garden is laid out in a series of "rooms", on the site of an early 19th century woollen mill.

I hope you have enjoyed our day out; I look forward to more days like this.

Great Chalfield Manor and Gardens (NT)

We have been having some glorious spring days, and although the nights are still cold (we even had  some frost the night before the last ), 

this has been just the right weather for days out; at last!

So, armed with a picnic, we went to visit a couple of National Trust properties; although not very far from us (just the other side of Bradford on Avon), somehow we never got around to visiting before.

This is Great Chalfield Manor and Gardens .

Many NT houses featured in various TV dramas, and so did this one - 

Wolf Hall, Poldark - just to name a couple.

We gave the guided tour of the house a miss (we can always come back for it another time), preferring to enjoy the lovely spring gardens.

A new month and another get together at Cheryll's

 for Friday Night with Friends. 

Cheryl wasn't in, but she let us use her place anyway.

Thanks Cheryll, we enjoyed the evening.

I will do the rounds later to see what the rest of the group was up to last night.

What was I doing?

This week I have been concentrating on my "Hygge", Scheepjes CAL 2017 (rather neglected during the winter). 

I am really enjoying it at the moment, so I just carried on last night. 

This afternoon I took my crochet in the garden with me - we are having a beautiful warm weekend -  crochet is just the right project for outside. 

I am now coming to the mid point of this beautiful design, a crochet and embroidered shawl.

A pair of doves were keeping me a company - 

they seemed to have "adopted" us and are visiting most days.
