something for Easter

Stitching is a bliss. And this week it proved to be a good therapy, because it helped me to calm down and carry on.

Last week I showed you the start of "something small for Easter". And here it is, a small spring tablecloth.

All applique and quilting is hand stitched.

Have a wonderful week !

I started this yellow hardanger tablecloth last summer and since then it was very close to becoming another UFO, so I am very pleased with myself for finishing it at last.

"Scandinavian Christmas Hearts" tablecloth

I finished my tablecloth just in time for Christmas, I am so pleased with it!
I even had the time to hand quilt it.

The other side of tablecloth, which I have made less "Christmas" like, so it can be used all the time, not just at Christmas.

Fabric: mostly Moda, also Fabric Freedom and some from my stash

Sweden 2010 - shopping

There are many wonderful things one can buy in Sweden, be it glass, wooden objects, textiles...Scandinavian design is well known. Our house is full on reminders of previous trips.

Did I buy some goodies this time? Oh, yes!

I love table linen and I do use it a lot at home.

In this wonderful shop in Rattvik I bought cotton fabric, enough to make a quilt.

And in this lovely shop in Leksand I bought Swedish linen thread.
I have not used or seen it before, but I just had to buy it, just look at the colours, they are like sweeties!
If any of you have any experience using a linen thread, I would be grateful for your opinion.

hardanger

I like hardanger very much. It needs a lot of concentration and counting, so it is not something you can pick and put down. I wish I had time to do more.
Here are my hardanger projects.

first embroidery

Then I bought an embroidery kit for a tablecloth and that was the start of my embroidery. It took a long time to complete, not like me to start with something small and easy!
