sometimes it needs a blitz

Because I like to have several projects on a go at the same time, I am very good at organising them.

Each new projects gets its own project box, which includes most of the materials I plan to use (fabrics, threads, yarn, needles etc).  That's the exiting bit.

So whenever I feel like working on any of them, I pick up a particular box and just get on with it.

But what I am not very good at is "filing" it all back, when I finish a project.

And so my room sometimes ends up being a chaos, no space to create.

Action is needed....

I like this storage system by Really Useful Storage Boxes .

And they come in so many different sizes.

The threads are stored in ArtBin boxes, 

for which DH made me a simple cabinet, so the boxes can be used as draws.

I love my Horn sewing machine cabinet, it has been with me many years.

I keep it permanently open, but when I need some desk space, 

I just push the machine down and put a wooden board across the top.

And at last I got around to allocating a box for small fabric scraps for applique.

For a tiny room I have a lot of storage here.

I just need to keep it tidy!

P.S. If you have tried to leave a comment on my blog in the last couple of days and did not managed to do it, or have not received an answer from me, I apologise. It was because I was "fiddling" with the system and managed to mess it up! 😕 All back to normal now (I hope).

blog books

As I said in my previous post, I like these quiet few days after Christmas to relax, and this year also to enjoy looking through 2 new additions to my blog books, years 2013 & 2014, which arrived in the post just before Christmas.

I already have first 3 years of my blog in print,

and I was well behind, but 25% price reduction on Black Friday gave me the push and I ordered the 2 latest complete years. 

And yes, soon another year of blogging will be finished, but that will have to wait until the next "special offer".

These are the 2 latest ones.

It is nice to browse through them, reminding myself what I had been up to, places I visited.

  My blog is no longer just somewhere in cyberspace. 

I have put a lot of time and effort into creating it and so it is a great feeling to actually hold it in my hands. And may be one day, when my memory might not be as good as it is now, the books might become very useful :-)

up to date with blog books

My new blog books, year 2 & 3, arrived this week from "blog2print". I never got around to ordering year 2 after the first one, and by the time I got around to it, year 3 was waiting ... So now I have my blog in print from the start to the end of December'12.

I like my blog books. Lets be honest, how many of us have the time to look back through our post or anybody else's for that matter, life is too short. I barely have time to keep up with current posts.
Browsing through my books I can remind myself ... oh yes, that was the time....oh, I forgot we went there.....

Of course, to have your blog transformed into a print is not free.

The cost is determined by the number of pages you will have in your book; before you decide to buy, you get the chance to edit your book, choose the cover (soft cover is cheaper), you can also decide on posts you don't want to include in the final version of your blog book. In fact, you can go and have a play, without buying, or save it for later.

Internet has give us blogging, which of course is wonderful. But my blog is somewhere out there in the cyberspace, things can happen to it. I have spent a lot of time taking my photographs and writing my posts.

 And I am old fashioned when it comes to books, I like to hold them and browse....They are my journals.

After the end of December my blog will be ready for another blog book. I hope to keep up this time!

blog book - year one

We had a very enjoyable Christmas, but it seemed to have just flown by and tomorrow it will the last day of 2011.

Time passes so quickly. I realised that we bloggers, in our own way, are recording the passing time.

When I started my blog, it was my intention to use it as a form of diary, and I suppose it is. But I must admit that I very rarely look back thorough my blog, and so forget what I did write in the past.

When I saw on Annemarie's blog that she had her blog printed, I thought what a wonderful idea!

I give myself a Christmas present! And surprise the family!

I followed the link on her blog to Blog2Print site and ordered my "blog book". I ordered it a little too late for it to arrive in time for Christmas, in fact I was given 9th January as the date of delivery.

But my book arrived yesterday, and here it is:

I am very pleased with it. It is a record of the first year of my blog. I am now approaching the end of my second year, who would had thought it?

I enjoy browsing through my book and re-visit some of my "journeys", and so does my family.
