bluebells and sheep

Today was a glorious Sunday morning and we took an early morning walk, through the woods, to the Park Hill Camp, which is believed to be a site of an Iron Age settlement and is now a part of

the Stourhead Estate, looked after by the National Trust.

It is a nice place to come see bluebells in the spring and a good place for a picnic any time.

Today there were also some sheep grazing among the bluebells.

It is a very long time since I bought this lovely lace yarn from Nimu Yarns, a mixture of alpaca, silk and cashmere, and started knitting a scarf.

 

 

I finished the scarf some time ago, but only now I got around to stretching it. It is only when I see it

like this, stretched out over an old sheet and pinned to the carpet,

 I can see all the mistakes!

 

All finished at last! It is beautifully soft and I know I will love wearing it. I don't think many people will notice or will care that it is not perfect!

spring, summer, confused?

It has been so cold again the last few days; a touch of frost in some parts of the country?
Should I take some summer clothing out of of the storage or not? Lovely and sunny today and tomorrow, but not warm and they are telling us it will get worse again next week!


Everything in the garden is delayed, but the nature can't be stopped, so I can show you some pictures
at last.

 

And a bonus - St.George's mushrooms from a local farmer's field.

show time!

Another beautiful bright day and the first day of of the Malvern Quilt Show, which takes place at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, with the backdrop of beautiful Malvern hills.

It claims to be the friendliest show in the UK, and I can only agree.

It is much larger then any local show, but not too large to overwhelm. 

With hundreds quilts on show and over 100 trade stands, it is hard to know which pictures to show you, and I know there will be other bloggers doing the same.

So these are just some of the quilts on show for you to enjoy.

And yes, I did buy few bits, but being too aware of many projects on a go already, I did "control" myself!
